Ben Shapiro Speaks to Valley Torah Students

After lunch on December 20th, Valley Torah students assembled in the Beis Medrash for an extremely unique presentation. Continuing in its yearly tradition, Valley Torah invited Mr. Ben Shapiro, a prominent, local Orthodox Jew to give a presentation.
Mr. Shapiro is a man of many great talents. At the age of 17, he wrote the first of his many books entitled Brainwashed: How Universities Indoctrinate America’s Youth. Other books he has published include True Allegiance and Primetime Propaganda: The True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV, the latter of which I proudly own. Mr. Shapiro is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Wire, an influential voice in conservative news, and the host of The Ben Shapiro Show, the fastest growing conservative podcast in the United States, according to iTunes charts.
Mr. Shapiro began his presentation with a speech. He began explaining the reason why he comes to speak at Jewish high school campuses, particularly those close to home. Shapiro explained his belief in America being founded by Judeo-Christian values, and—while it may not seem like it based on the current political environment—the majority of Americans still do hold true to those Judeo-Christian values. Furthermore, Shapiro explained that he would like to see more Orthodox Jews in public forums, especially the political forum:
“I would like to see a whole generation of Jews, who are obviously frum, in the public limelight,” said Shapiro. “ I think that it is our mission always to spread the word of G-d.”

Following his enlightening speech, Mr. Shapiro held a question and answer session, which he always believed was “more fun than any speech [he] could give.” Students and teachers alike asked Mr. Shapiro a wide variety of questions, including his opinions on national and international politics, his daily schedule, and his keys to success in life and the modern world.
After the expansive question and answer segment of his presentation, students lined up to receive autographs and pictures with Mr. Shapiro, followed by a group photo with him and many of the Valley Torah Students.
In his address to the Valley Torah community, Mr. Shapiro articulated his hope for a Jewish community that will thrive more than ever before in a country with limitless opportunities. He imparted to us the important lesson that the sky’s the limit when you put yourself to work and live an honest, value-based life.
