Dear Mortal Naiads

Dazzled by desire, delighted by deceit, The fumes of your dandelion fervor entrance Even the untrancable.  The reward posed for the fools’ hard work. The apple on the rod, the mule will never reach. You stand- delicately, delightfully, deservingly -despicably-  unaware.   This poem was inspired by some of George Gascoigne’s earlier works.
