Chabad Chassidut, founded by the Alter Rebbe, is a movement that conveys the concepts of Chassidut in an intellectual framework, understood by man’s Chochmah (wisdom), Binah (understanding), and daat (knowledge) — ChaBaD. The doctrines of Chassidus were made comprehensible to all Jews, which gave life and energy to every facet of an individual’s life and his service to God. The Tanya, written by the Alter Rebbe, is the core scripture and fundamental text of Chabad Chassidut. The connection between a Jew and a Mitzvah is taught by Chabad Chassidus in three areas: in thought (“in your heart”), speech (“in your mouth”), and deed (“that you may do it”).
Chassidut and Chabad Chassidut place strong focuses on teaching its beliefs to every Jew. After the Alter Rebbe was freed from Czarist captivity as a result of false charges made against the Chabad movement, he says that “all the peoples of the earth” witnessed G-d’s emancipation, and that “G-d did wonders in the earth” in explaining his release. God’s miracles did not go unnoticed; in fact, they had such an impact on this physical world that even non-Jews were aware of them. The principle of Chassidut, which holds that its teachings should not be restricted to a small group of people but rather impact the entire world and reach out to all Jews, was echoed in the redemption.
