As part of the growth of Chassidut, editions of Tanya (one of the fundamental books of Chabad) should be printed in every place with a Jewish population. This will lend extra enthusiasm to the study of Tanya by all Jews, preparing for the Mashiach. In particular, this means that Jews should have Tanyas in which to learn the “Written Law” of Chabad Chassidus. In addition to ensuring that Jews learn Tanya in those places where it has been printed, a substantial number of copies of those editions should be left in those places, with the Rabbi and many other communal leaders. This will inspire and encourage them to learn Tanya themselves and to study it with others. And because “one mitzvah brings about another,” those who study Tanya will come to follow its directives.
That’s where Valley Torah steps in. A small but powerful group of boys running the Tanya club have succeeded in coming together and printing more than two hundred copies of Tanya. The work and effort put in, alongside the many donations given, were all done behind the scenes of Valley Torah, as an incredible unnoticed act of Chesed. These printed copies have recently been sent to a binder, where they will be ready to be distributed to Shuls, schools, and Kollels across the Valley, alongside any student who wishes to take one. These will be used in our next school year as well, with the hastily growing Tanya club, to spread Chassidut among many others. Not only will this act be monumental to Valley Torah students and Rebbeim for years to come, but it will also set records. As one of the only cities not to have Tanyas officially listed as printed, we are making history with the first Tanyas printed in Valley Village. This means that we have the privilege of sending two of our copies to the Rebbe’s personal libraries, where tons of Torah knowledge and wisdom are shared amongst students, and with that in mind, we should merit the true and complete redemption through our righteous Moshiach.
