On April 14, 2024, Valley Torah hosted its annual satellite Sunday where a selected number of Rebbeim went throughout Los Angeles for a morning of davening and torah with local students at Valley Torah. This year, Valley Torah’s satellite Sunday included La Brea, Valley Village, Tarzana, and Pico. This is just one of many opportunities Valley Torah has to offer for a bonding experience between Rabbis and students off campus. Shacharit on this Sunday started at 8:30 a.m. and the program lasted until 10:30 a.m.. Rabbis and students alike bonded even while davening at their local communities. After Shacharit, students from Pico were served a deluxe breakfast with Rabbi Semel’s famous iced coffee and an assortment of cereals. Bagels and cream cheese were also served alongside lox and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Students got to talk casually with their Rabbis which enhanced this bonding experience. After breakfast and benching, students got together and learned a bit about Pesach. They learned about the idea that what you eat affects you and will stay a part of your body forever. The same is by eating chametz on Pesach; the prohibited food will stay in your body for the rest of your life. The students put in time to wake up early in the morning on a Sunday to spend time with their Rebbiem and create an unforgettable bonding experience.
