Every year, Valley Torah has many different astonishing Onegs ranging from the Valley, the City, and even Tarzana. Wherever it is, friends sleep at each other’s homes to attend these special events as they know these experiences are everlasting. As the students were walking through the hallways recently, they noticed that there were posters. When they read the poster, they were ecstatic when they saw that it stated there would be an Oneg at the home of Rabbi Majeski on Friday Night, March 15, in Valley Village. As soon as they got home, they made arrangements to be there for this outstanding weekend looking forward to it every day. Rabbi Majeski’s Oneg is always an event that no one wants to miss! As soon as Friday approached, everyone was euphoric. As Shabbos approached, they all went to their friends’ homes to prepare for Shabbos. Some of the Rebbeim hosted their shiur for Shabbos Dinner and walked to the Oneg as a group. As soon as everyone arrived at the home of Rabbi Mejeski, they sat around the elegant Shabbos table that was set with different candies, snacks, and drinks for their enjoyment. As they settled in, Rabbi Majeski started with a powerful story. As he concluded the story, the room burst with Ruach and Achdus.
Around the table, Rebbeim bounded with students while other students were jumping up and down and singing joyous songs. This was a night that no one will forget! After a few songs, Rabbi Majeski introduced a game, “Who Knows Their Best Friend the Best.” Two students from each grade were selected to represent their grades. Rabbi Semmel and Rabbi Davidowitz were selected to represent the Rebbeim. After many challenging questions, the juniors and seniors came on top. The game was so close that it not only went into overtime, once, not twice, but three times! At the end of the game, the seniors ended up winning the game and excitement filled the room. After the game concluded, we enjoyed Rabbi Samuels’s famous cholent while singing the final few songs. This was an unforgettable Shabbos!
