All throughout the hallways, were signs for this special occasion, Generations Day. This was a Sunday dedicated to bringing your brothers, uncles, grandfather, and father for a day of learning. This year was unique as it was Rosh Chodesh Adar II. This remarkable event began with Shachris at eight o’clock. Davening was led by Adar Perez, a sophomore, Hallel was led by our very own Rabbi Samuels and Mussaf was led by Mr. Perez, Adar’s father. After Davening concluded, they headed into the dining room where bagels, lox, cream cheese, eggs, vegetables, donuts, and fruit were available for our enjoyment. Scattered throughout the tables were orange juice and water to enjoy. On the side of the dining room, there was a table that was set up for people to make their coffee. If you were to walk into this dining room, you would see families talking to other families, this is the Achdut that Valley Torah is known for. Following breakfast, they headed back into the Beis Medrash, while entering, they were handed packets for learning groups. Each of these groups had a Rebbe to teach over a shiur about Purim. Fast forward about an hour, and all the groups came together to listen to our very own Judaic Studies principal, Rabbi Semmel, to review what they learned in the group. Such an opportunity is specifically unique to Valley Torah as we value unity and relationships which could be done through coming together and learning Torah.
