A couple months ago, we celebrated Chanukah with an exciting and action-packed Chagiga. This event was set up by Valley Torah’s student council and brought the staff and students together on a memorable day. The day started off with the regular Hebrew classes but then transformed into an exciting surprise performance by Hollywood Hypnotist Kevin Stone. VolunteeMajeski delivered an inspiring and meaningful dvar Torah which explored the deeper meanings of Chanukah about unity and perseverance. Afterwards, all the students went back to the Beit Midrash where they danced along with their friends and Rebbiseveryone went to the sports court where they indulged in a special lunch. The students were served with a variety of foods from Jeff’s along with ice cold beverages to cool them down from the hot day. During the lunch, Rabbi Majeski delivered an inspiring and meaningful dvar Torah which explored the deeper meanings of Chanukah about unity and perseverance. Afterwards, all the students went back to the Beit Midrash where they danced along with their friends and Rebbis. Rabbi Samuels served as the DJ and filled the room with music and energy as everyone danced together in true Chanukah spirit. To end off the packed day, students were treated with jelly and chocolate filled sufganiyot followed by an exciting raffle. Rabbi Segal hosted the raffle which had many prizes including candy, school merch, and other fun toys which just added more excitement to the atmosphere. The Chanukah chagiga was a perfect example of Valley Torah’s commitment in celebrating Jewish life by giving the students memorable and exciting events.
