This season, the Valley Torah Varsity team has made themselves a big name. With an incredible 11-1 record, the team had been dominating their opponents with chemistry and non stop effort on both ends of the floor. Led by our star, Meir Dan, whose leadership and intensity sets off the tone of every game and helps our team play with confidence. Benny Mahgerfeteh had been shooting lights-out from beyond the arc and knocking down clutch three pointers when needed. In the paint, Adam Bouzaglou is a powerful center who controls rebounds on offense and defense and protects the rim. Together, this core has helped Valley Torah defeat some tough competition and prove that this season is one like no other.
One of the most defining moments of the year came against the team’s biggest rival, Shalhevet, a matchup filled with energy and anticipation. With a stacked student crowd, Valley Torah rose to the challenge and defeated Shalhevet with an impressive score of 51-37 sending a clear message to the rest of the league. The team’s only loss came against Milken High School, but even that setback has fueled the team to improve more. Known for their clutch moments, Dvir Assayag and Joey Victor have delivered in clutch and needy situations. No moment captured better than Joey Victor’s unforgettable deep three pointer at the buzzer to seal the amazing win that electrified the crowd. With this, I conclude that Valley Torah’s Varsity Team will dominate like no other and will go very far this season.
