Coming into the Valley Torah 2025-26 year, there is a major problem: students are driving. Not just a few, but the majority. This year, unlike many others, most of the students from 10th grade received their licenses as soon as possible and began to bring their vehicles to school. Additionally, very few students from 11th grade opted out of getting their licenses, and most drive to school. With an overwhelming amount of new drivers, the Valley Torah parking lot gets extremely crammed, and students have to double, triple, or even quadruple park next to each other, creating difficult situations to maneuver.
A creative solution to this problem would be parking next door to Beit Tfillah, where a spacious parking lot resides. With the permission of the shul, a few students would be able to park there every day, clearing up more room in Valley Torah. It usually remains somewhat vacant and would give room for up to eight vehicles to park for the day. This would be a game changer for the school, as it would free up space and maintain a calm and organized parking situation. Additionally, some of the spots reserved for teachers at the front of the lot remain vacant for the majority of the time, so it would be extremely beneficiary for certain selected students to be able to use those spots as a certain privilege. Hopefully, the school gets this message, and the situation in the parking lot will be all cleared up.
