Valley Torah has had a student council for many years. Students who are elected by their fellow classmates in all four grades meet up every month to discuss new ways to bring excitement and ruach to the everyday life of kids in school. The main purpose of stucco is to set up events and campaigns throughout the school year to promote Jewish values and increase school spirit. The Student Council includes 8 positions, all with diverse jobs and roles in which they can contribute. The president plays a leading role by running council meetings and giving public announcements to the student body. The vice president assists the president in any way and even stands in for the president when necessary .The historian will document all the events throughout the year and be the main contributor in providing photos for the senior yearbook. To keep track of funds and develop fundraising ideas, a treasurer can also be elected. Then, there are 4 class representatives for all the grades who play a big role in the council. They first represent the desires and needs of their grade to the council in order to achieve a general satisfaction with the events and activities by all students of Valley Torah. They are the bridge between the students and the council. The election for the 2025 student council occurred on June 11, with many students applying for every position. Prior to the election, Rabbi Segal, the head of Stuco, set up a meeting with all candidates to discuss the requirements of each member. Following the election, candidates have already started to gather voters to secure their win. The day of the election was hectic with candidates running around to gather votes, but anxiety ensued while waiting a whole day for a result. Michael Nourolla won as president and started right away with setting up a meeting only days after the election. Now the council is setting up exciting events for Valley Torah 2025.
