On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive air and drone strike on Iran’s nuclear and strategic facilities. In retaliation, Iran struck civilian areas, most notably in Tel-Aviv, and there have been 24 reported deaths and nearly 600 injured. Israeli missile ships and Iron Dome had intercepted most of Iran’s attack; however, around 7 ballistic missiles passed through and caused significant damage. Thousands have evacuated Tehran due to Trump’s warnings to evacuate and bombardments on certain civilian sites, such as State TV studios and reportedly a Red Crescent ambulance. This conflict resulted in many countries condemning Israel and requesting peaceful negotiations. These countries, including Russia and China, as well as over 20 foreign ministers from Islamic and Arab nations. Trump had abruptly left the G7 summit to focus on this conflict and posted on Truthsocial some threatening messages to Iran and the importance of stopping Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. This is a developing story, and it may involve the U.S. entering this conflict.
