After hearing from our 3 presidential candidates running for Student Council at Valley Torah High School, students had no clue who was going to win, as everyone had a pretty good speech on their goals as the student leader of VT. Additionally, others running for different positions on Student Council also did not know who was going to win after Election Day, and the anticipation rose for who was going to team up and hopefully lead our school to the “golden age”.

Who ended up winning was a great group of guys, including myself, Michael Nourrolah for president, and various other lower-class men in their respective positions. After having our first meeting talking about our goals, it seems as though we will be able to, with Hashem’s will, make Valley Torah even better than it is now, by improving trips, merch, and other important factors that make a school great.

But what makes the school a better place, in my opinion, transcends minute details, and while school events are important, they are not the main goal. Achdus, unity, is far more important than these things, and through these things, achdus comes. Unity really improves the school environment and the off-campus spirit in basketball games and overnight trips as well. Unity is what gives people memories, not the fact that they had a hoodie, but that they enjoyed that hoodie with their friends. So looking forward to a new school year, I hope and believe achdus will be the centerpiece to all goals that STUCO pursues.
