This year, Valley Torah had their annual fundraising campaign to help fundraise not only scholarship funds, but also to help fund the exciting new girls campus! Rabbi Davidowitz’s honors Gemara shiur was able to raise more than a whopping thirty thousand dollars, as we were one of the top classes when it came to fundraising to help Valley Torah reach their bold seven hundred and fifty thousand goal. Raising that amount of money came from countless phone calls done during Gemara shiur, lunch break, and our very own freetime! Each grade got their very own incentive depending on how much money they raised, as the rewards varied from a hike and a pizza lunch, to not only a Six Flags trip, but a steak BBQ! Due to us raising thirty thousand dollars, we were able to get the Six Flags trip and the steak BBQ. The steak BBQ took place at Rabbi Davidowitz’s house, as he showed all of his students hospitality as they came for dinner. He first gave us all appetizers, including chicken wings, sausages, and so much more. However, the highlight were the steaks by far, as Rabbi Davidowitz cooked each kid a steak that almost was bigger than the plate itself! After finishing the delicious steak, Rabbi Davidowitz gave us an inspiring speech, telling us how much learning he was able to do with our class. Finally, we were given desert, a delicious brownie and parve ice cream, before we made our farewells. I want to thank Rabbi Davidowitz for a delicious steak BBQ, and an amazing year!
