The school day began in its classic fashion, with heartfelt davening and breakfast. Then the fateful 10:15 am break came, when the kids in Rabbi Strick’s and Rabbi Moshe’s shiur jumped out their desks and out the door. They arrived at Malibu Creek State Park with high spirits and full water bottles, until the kids decided that water was meant for spraying, not drinking.

Along the way, some students found interesting pebbles that they decided they wanted to share with others, and by share I mean throwing it at each other. Along the way, the students paused to skip rocks and debate if a car’s headrest was necessary or not (considering the fact that they attempted to break one earlier today).

The destination for the hike? The M.A.S.H filming site, where students learned about an old TV show that their teacher said was, “really popular back in his days.” They ate lunch atop large set pieces, being tanks, cars and military camps.

Back at school, they had pizza. Because nothing says, “I walked 5 miles today,” without slamming a bunch of calories down your throat.
