The morning started like any other, with shacharit and breakfast. However, something major awaited Rabbi Segal’s shiur. After the 10:15 break, the students rushed out to their cars and drove with the rabbi to the airsoft park known as “Ambush.” On the drive there, everyone was buzzing with excitement, calling each other and chatting about strategies and teams.
Once arriving at the location, Shafigi was already decked out in airsoft gear. He had his own rifle, pistol, speed loader, ammunition and armor. Shafigi looked like he was ready to go to war. However, when the match started, the fuse on Shafigi’s gun blew, rendering the gun unable to fire. Shafigi had to swap to his secondary and he still worked his way through the enemy. It was intense, with adrenaline coursing through their veins.
After the match, the students made their way to Valley Burger Bar and had lunch. Everyone was starved and drained after the exhilarating spot. It also gave the kids time to find undiscovered injuries from the match. After eating, Rabbi Segal’s shiur made its way back to school and the students just played on the sports court until the day ended.
