Valley Torah High School may not be known as the premier output of Baseball talent—our main thing is basketball, to be brutally honest—but that does not mean that we cannot be a violent force in the Baseball world as well. We may be a small school, but that has not stopped the Wolfpack from achieving success in other endeavors. We may face challenges along the way, but with the nice core of players we’ve built our team around, I’m confident the wins will come. Moreover, if we play to our potential, a return to the Columbus Baseball Invitational (CBI) may be in the cards next year.
The team has two coaches, each with distinct teaching styles. The first coach—Joseph Avrahamy—is youthful, optimistic and played college baseball a few years ago. He provides players with encouragement, advice, and overall baseball IQ. The second coach—Mark Stone—is more experienced, coordinates the team, and offers feedback to players.
We have secured a nice turf field in a safe area, as well as some cool uniforms and hats with a royal blue color scheme. I am in 9th grade, but from what I hear, the team has made significant strides from where we were last year. After having gone to a few practices myself, I can confidently say that we have a good group of guys ready to win some ball games.
All in all, our Varsity Baseball team has been very impressive thus far. We have made great strides and continue to impress ourselves and get better with each practice and game. Go Wolfpack!
