A unique opportunity that Valley Torah provides to its students is its notorious Purim Chagigah. Every year students joyously celebrate together and participate in an incredible party. Each year, the Chagigah is based on a different theme, and this year, STUCO decided to go for a Hawaiian theme. The Beit Midrash was transformed into an unrecognizable tropical paradise full of joy and happiness. An unlimited amount of refreshments were served, alongside an elegant chocolate fountain with the option of dipping marshmallows, pretzel sticks, and strawberries. As the night went on, so did the partying, as all the Rebbeim and students took the dance floor for unforgettable moments. Students and Rebbiem who were in different shiurim were seen on Purim rejoicing together in uplifting dancing. To say the least, the achdut in the room was felt by all. Next, we were served an incredible, deluxe, exquisite gourmet dairy buffet, with pizza, pasta, french fries, and salads. Rabbi Segal then provided students with the best costumes with a chance to win incredible prizes. After that, we were directed back into the Beit Midrash for the senior’s yearly Gramin. They completely flopped, but right after, the highly anticipated Purim video contest was projected and was as big of a hit as it was thought to be. The puns relating to all of the staff and the students were incredibly humorous, and everyone had a great laugh. The 10th-grade production won the contest, which brought the Chagigah to an end.

To conclude, I believe that this Chagigah is like no other in its meaningfulness and achdut. It is one of the highlights of the year and made my Purim. I can’t wait until next year when Purim will hopefully be spent in Yerushalayim by the Kotel with all of our hostages safely released. Amen.
