On March 19 of 2024 Valley Torah High School hosted their Seniors vs. Staff volleyball tournament. During the afternoon, students from every grade got together on the packed sports court to watch the highly anticipated game. Both the seniors and staff had eight players on each team, three in the front, two in the middle, and three in the back. Gatorades were given out to all the players while slushies were sold to students on the sideline. The first of three rounds started and throughout this round both teams obtained close scores. The seniors won the first round with their frontline players spiking the ball to which the staff responded that they were just warming up. After a short break, the second round started. The seniors started off strong once again with their previous win in mind. It was 10-3 with the seniors winning, but the staff did not give up and pushed for a comeback. From 10-3, the staff surprisingly came back and won the second round. The students were shocked while the staff was celebrating with the singing of “Mesha Mechnas Adar”. After the staff’s crazy comeback, the third round started soon after. The staff started their lead but the seniors would not give up easily as they kept on catching up with their players spiking the ball again and again. The staff, going for the last stretch, won with the seniors close behind. Now the staff have become the volleyball champions of Valley Torah.
