This Monday, March 11, the school had a surprise trip to park enjoy festive and fun activities. The weather was nice and sunny and everyone had an amazing day playing basketball, soccer, and football. Students also enjoyed the facilities that the park offered such as a work-out area and a enormous playground. There was also an intense basketball tournament primarily led by Ariel Kohanteb with a bracket of 8 teams, each including roughly 5 kids from different grades in the school. The tournament became extremely intense, and the final game was played at Valley Torah’s home court. After the fantastic experience at the park that provided the students with a bonding experience with the Rebbeim and their peers, a pizza lunch from Pacific Kosher and LA Pizza was served for the enjoyment of the students. In a world often permeated with chaos and division, especially with what is going on in Israel right now, the simple act of coming together on Rosh Chodesh Adar and laughing, making memories, and having a good time served as a powerful reminder of the strength in the community. Although classes did continue after the final basketball game, on that day the student body of Valley Torah Boys had a unique sense of unity and community that cannot be fostered anywhere else.
