As a whole, Valley Torah is able to provide us students with unique opportunities and chances throughout our academic careers. One major highlight of the school year is the opportunity to get an immersive snow trip all the way up in Big Bear Mountain. Students go on an extravagant trip where they have the option to go either skiing or snowboarding.
This year’s trip was probably one of, if not, the best snow trip in the last couple of years. There were a perfect amount of students that the place wouldn’t feel crowded, but at the same time, you would be able to see your friends. The mountain was also under new ownership resulting in a more organized and enjoyable experience than the previous years. To top it off, many kids challenged themselves on courses that seemed daunting and risky, that kids from other years wouldn’t have normally done.
I believe this trip is one of the best points of Achdut that Valley Torah has to offer. Doing an enjoyable activity while bonding and becoming closer with your friends and Rebbim is the epitome of this trip. The sport is indeed fun and challenging, but what you remember and take out of the trip is the memories that you made bonding with your fellow Valley Torah alumni.
